The Swedish Club is looking for an experienced Underwriter to join our Singapore office.

To strengthen our commercial activities in Asia, we are looking for an experienced Underwriter to join our Singapore team.

Key Responsibilities

• Business development and acquisition, including risk assessment and underwriting of new business.

• Account management and underwriting support to existing members, including renewals of insurance contracts.

• Establishing and developing long-term business relationships with shipowners, insurance brokers, and other business partners.

• Working closely with claims handlers and technical staff in risk evaluation and pricing assessments.

• Representing The Swedish Club at industry events, conferences, and client meetings throughout the region.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for someone with a background in insurance, business administration, shipping, or a related field. You should have experience in marine underwriting, insurance broking, or another relevant role within the marine insurance industry.

Former deck officers and marine engineers with a strong commercial interest and relevant industry experience are also encouraged to apply.

As our working language is English, excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. The role involves regular contact with clients, brokers, and colleagues across different countries, as well as frequent travel within the region.

Mandarin language skills are considered an advantage.
