The Role
We are now looking for a committed and service-minded Claims Executive to join our office in Athens, Greece. You will work with a wide range of P&I claims and provide advice and support to our members across various aspects of maritime liability.
Supported by experienced colleagues, you will manage your portfolio, develop close relationships with members, and contribute to our wider risk assessment and loss prevention activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle P&I claims, including personal injury, illness, cargo, and third-party liabilities
- Provide members with guidance on claims handling, liability issues, and insurance coverage
- Act as a trusted representative of The Swedish Club in all member and broker interactions
- Review technical reports, legal opinions, and other claim-related documentation
- Participate in ship surveys, risk assessments, and loss prevention initiatives
- Travel occasionally, both within Greece and internationally, for meetings, investigations, or seminars
Who You Are
You have a solid maritime or legal background – perhaps from vessel operations, crew management, marine insurance, or previous work in claims. You enjoy problem-solving, building professional relationships, and working in a structured and supportive environment.
We believe you bring:
- At least 3 years of relevant maritime or insurance experience
- Strong command of English, both spoken and written (additional languages are a plus)
- A service-oriented and professional mindset
- The ability to explain complex matters clearly, both verbally and in writing
- A team-player attitude with strong integrity and attention to detail
